Halloween Decoration Ideas

Picture of Halloween Decorations.Rattling skeleton

You will need: large and small branches/pieces of wood, a flower pot, grass tufts, 1 hook and pliers.

Decoration is as important as the Halloween costumes for children. Here you have the instructions for the construction of the head: Guide the wire through the flower pot and attach it to the hook, which you have previously attached to the branch for the shoulders. The body, arms and legs are connected to the loose wires.

Forked branches are especially suitable for the hands and feet. If you want, you can paint a face on the clay pot. Plant grass tufts into the pot as hair. You can also fill the pot with potting soil and plant grass.

Reaching into the unknown

A stitch in each box means pure horror! This spooky kind of fun gives you the chills down your spines  it is just something for the brave!

You will need several boxes (from the supermarket or the shoe store), a craft knife and wide tape. You will also need funny, puzzling or disgusting items such as clean bones from chickens to be used as skeleton bones, unrolled liquorice candies to be used as sticky devil hair, soaked gummy bears as goo, popcorn as unusual teeth, peeled grapes as bulging eyes, a piece of fur, gum or marshmallows for figures of all kinds.

Cut the lid crosswise with a cutting knife (use a cutting board) so that you can reach in it.

Put a disgusting or creepy thing into it. Close the box with the lid and secure it with duct tape. Then write what is in it on the board, but not the real thing; write a scary one. For instance, instead of peeled grapes you will write bulging eyes and so on.

So now, you go to your friends and dare them to reach into different boxes without looking to the content. This is a funny way to discover how brave one is!

Mobile spider web

All sorts of creepy characters are caught hanging on a spider web and swinging in the wind. This is a great room decoration for any horror, carnival or Halloween party, especially if you use long branches and large figures.

You will need: dry, not too thick branches, thin string or wool, a lightweight cardboard, colored pencils, scissors

Draw creepy things on the cardboard, paint it if you like and cut out the figures. Firmly tie two branches together crosswise to each other. Put the third branch diagonally on them and tie it up too. Do the same with the fourth branch. Now run the thread from the middle to every branch wrapping them 2-3 times. Make a knot when you reach the outer edge. Bind the figures from the bottom of the net and hang the spider web. The mobile spider web is especially effective if seen in dim light.

Paste masks

You will need: glue, a bowl, a newspaper, plain white paper, balloons, scissors, whisk, an elastic cord, a plastic pad. These masks are great for Superheroes Halloween costumes.

- Tear the newspaper into pieces and mix them with the glue in a bowl.

- Apply at least four layers of paste over an inflated balloon.

- Let the balloon dry (this takes an entire day and night). Then cut it in half lengthwise.

-
Shape the ears, nose, hair, eyebrows and anything else you can think of using the newspaper and glue and glue the pieces on the mask. Dont be a saver  use a lot of glue!

-
Finally, apply two coats of plain white paper and glue paste on the mask. This time allow more time for the mask to dry. Puncture two holes to the sides of the dry shape and attach the rubber cord.

-
Cut the eyeholes and mouth opening. If you want, you can paint the mask in opaque colors.
